With just 10 weeks to go preparations for the Big Futures Show at the Winter Garden on 20 April 2016 are hotting up.
We are pleased to announce that the Eastbourne Herald has come on board as our Media Partner alongside our other major sponsors, Eastbourne Borough Council, Sussex Downs College, National Careers Service, Faithorn Farrell Timms, The View Hotel, Sussex Coast College and L J Edwards Coaches.
With an impressive list of over 80 exhibitors including employers, trainers and education already booked visitors to the show will be sure to find plenty to fire their imaginations. Skills and employment opportunities on show range from art and creative through banking and the professions, construction and built environment, health and social care, engineering & electronics, public services, retail and personal services and many more.
Sussex Downs College, Plumpton College and Sussex Coast College Hastings will all be keen to show what they have to offer. There will be 4 different faculties from University of Brighton as well as University of Sussex and Brighton & Sussex University Hospital offering advice for those considering university. More than 15 training providers and many of the employers exhibiting have a wide range exciting offerings for anyone thinking about apprenticeships. Many of the exhibitors are planning to raise the interest levels with interactive displays adding to the visitor experience.
Schools from across East Sussex have booked groups of year 9 to 11 students visitors bringing the number of pre booked visitors to over 1500 so it is sure to be a busy day. These pre booked visitors will benefit 2 weeks before the show from a preparation pack and lesson plan specially developed for the show. Its not too late to book and parents of year 9 to 11s should not worry if their child’s school isn’t visiting this year as they will soon be able to book on line and visit during the day or in the evening.
Making sure that everyone is well prepared before the show there will be briefings for teachers and school governors sponsored by the National Careers Service and hosted by The View Hotel in Eastbourne.
