Eastbourne Arndale Centre is set to be transformed by an £85 million extension that will bring 22 new shops and a nine-screen cinema to the heart of the town centre.
Owners Legal & General Property have already announced that six top restaurants will be opening in the extension. Names to look forward to are: Nandos, Carluccio’s, Wagamama, Byron, Chiquito and Frankie & Benny’s. In addition, H & M and Next have signed up and more announcements are expected soon.
The new scheme will create at least 650 new jobs for Eastbourne so local employment will be a key consideration.
Work has already taken place to create a new glass atrium at the Centre’s entrance nearest Banker’s Corner that will give you a taste of how your new shopping centre will look once the redevelopment has taken place.
Bill Plumridge, who has been manager of the Arndale Centre for more than 25 years, said: “It’s a very exciting time for the Arndale Centre and for Eastbourne. This development will really give a huge boost to the local economy and enable Eastbourne to compete with neighbouring destinations.”
